Woman among three booked for assault

AMRITSAR: The Jandiala police have booked three persons, including a woman for alleged physical assault on a person, besides an attempt to kidnap him.

The Jandiala police have booked three persons, including a woman for alleged physical assault on a person, besides an attempt to kidnap him. The incident occurred on Friday evening while a case was registered yesterday.

The victim, Jaspal Singh, a resident of Nizampura village, stated to the police that Baldev Singh, his wife Kulwinder Kaur and son Jugraj Singh, all residents of Baba Bakala, barged into his house and tried to forcibly take him away.

Jaspal said he tried to escape when the accused caught hold of him and brutally thrashed him. He said when his family members and people gathered to save him they fled from the spot while hurling abuses him and his grandmother.

The police have registered a case under Sections 452, 365, 511, 506, 323 and 34 of the IPC in this regard. No arrests have been made so far. Police officials said the case was under investigation.
