Woman robbed of cash, jewellery

A woman has been robbed at her house in Rana Garden locality. The area falls under Maqboolpura police station. Though the incident occurred on Wednesday, the case was registered yesterday evening.

The victim, Poonam, told police that on August 9 an unknown person knocked at the door of her house and introduced himself as a bank employee, claiming that he had come to hand over some documents. After she opened the door, the man sought a glass of water. She went inside and he followed her. Meanwhile, he took out a sharp-edged weapon and threatened her to hand over the keys of the almirah. He took away a jewellery set, two gold rings and Rs 25,000. The Maqboolpura police said efforts were on to arrest him.
