Workshop on drug issue

The District Health Department organised a workshop to create awareness about the drug problem today. The workshop was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Vikas Hira.

He said after the de-addiction treatment, addicts must undergo rehabilitation course at the government rehabilitation centre.

A play highlighting drug problem was also staged on the occasion. Civil Surgeon, Dr Pardeep Chawla, said society should motivate addicts to go for treatment. He said drug addicts should be treated with compassion as addiction was more of a disease that a vice. — TNS
