BATHINDA: The police have booked a city resident after he allegedly tried to encroach upon a piece of land which belongs to Sri Sanatan Dharm Sabha, Bathinda.

The police have booked a city resident after he allegedly tried to encroach upon a piece of land which belongs to Sri Sanatan Dharm Sabha, Bathinda.

Rajan Garg, vice-president of Sri Sanatan Dharm Sabha, lodged a complaint in this regard wherein he accused Sardara Singh, a resident of Bangi House Wali Gali of trying to encroach upon the land of the Sabha. Rajan said the Sabha has 12-13 acres of land which is worth crores situated in the heart of city on which a school, a hospital and shops are built. “Due to a legal tangle, we did not clean the area and it got filled with garbage dump adjacent to the Sanatan Dharm Hospital,” he said. He said the accused man tried to open back gate of his house towards their land and he was stopped from doing so.

A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 447,506 and 511 of the IPC. However, no arrests have been made so far.
