BATHINDA: The closing ceremony of the ongoing three-day Circle Style Kabaddi Tournament was held at DAV College Bathinda.

Bathinda, February 14

The closing ceremony of the ongoing three-day Circle Style Kabaddi Tournament was held at DAV College Bathinda. The tournament was organised by Punjabi University, Patiala. Around 20 teams, 13 of boys and 7 of girls, participated in the tournament.

Principal Dr Sanjeev Sharma, vice-principal Prof Varesh Gupta, staff secretary Prof Shishpal Jindal, head, Department of Physical Education, Prof Madan Lal and the college staff accorded a warm welcome to the chief guest Kuldeep Bawa, PCS, Assistant Commissioner, Bathinda, and Aditya Decchawala, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Bathinda.

The dexterity of the players and healthy game spirit exhibited by them impressed chief guest Kuldeep Bawa. He expressed pleasure over witnessing the girls participating in the tournament and setting an example for others to expand their horizons. He further stated that all domains of life required one to be honest and work with full dedication and integrity.

In the tournament, Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib, grabbed the first position, the second position went to DAV College, Bathinda, and University College, Damdama Sahib, took the third position. Among the girls’ teams, NCPE College, Chupki, stood first, Akal College of Physical Education, Mastuana Sahib, stood second and the third position went to Kings College, Barnala.

Principal Dr Sanjeev Sharma expressed pleasure over witnessing the players exhibiting true sportsmanship spirit.
