Bhiwani man booked for rape

BATHINDA: The Canal Colony police yesterday booked a man, a resident of Bhiwani in Haryana, for raping a girl of Bathinda. A case under Section 376 of the IPC has been registered.

The Canal Colony police yesterday booked a man, a resident of Bhiwani in Haryana, for raping a girl of Bathinda.

A case under Section 376 of the IPC has been registered. The police have started conducting raids, but failed to arrest the accused as he absconded after this incident.

As per a complaint lodged by a 21-year-old resident of Deep Nagar, Bathinda, she alleged that she had gone to meet her friend Lovepreet Kaur on December 5, a resident of Paras Ram Nagar, who is married to Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Gollagarh village in Bhiwani (Haryana), and came here in her house after marriage.

She alleged when she reached her house, Lovepreet was not present in her home and Rajesh was present there. According to the victim, Rajesh offered her tea which she drunk and became unconscious and he raped her.

When she gained her consciousness, she returned and narrated this incident to her kin. Kulwinder Singh, SHO of the Canal Colony police station, said soon the accused would be held as we had conducted raids at various places.
