CAI releases estimate for January of cotton crop

The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has released its January estimate of the cotton crop for the 2016-17 season, which began from October 1, last year. 

It has placed its estimate of the crop for the season at 341.00 lakh bales of 170 kg each. The estimate is the same as compared to the previous month. 

However, the CAI has increased the cotton consumption for the ongoing crop year to 295 lakh bales against its previous estimate of 290 lakh bales.
