BATHINDA: A Verna car was stolen from Parjapat Colony while Rs 10,000 was stolen from the Pishori Lal road area.



Bathinda: A Verna car was stolen from Parjapat Colony while Rs 10,000 was stolen from the Pishori Lal road area. In the first complaint lodged by Sukhcharan Singh, a resident of Parjapat colony, it has been stated that his Verna car (PB03-W-0132) had been stolen from outside his house on June 19. A case has been registered against unidentified persons under Section 379 of the IPC. ASI Vishnu Das said the police had started an investigation. In the second incident, Naresh Kumar, a resident of the Pishori Lal road area, said unidentified persons had stolen Rs 10,000 and material worth Rs 5,000 from his shop on Tuesday night. Thieves stole jewellery, cash and motorcycle in Jiyood village. A case has been registered against unidentified persons under Sections of 457 and 380 of the IPC. TNS

Smack recovered from jail

Bathinda: Smack and intoxicant pills have been recovered from a prisoner in the Central Jail. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at the Nathana police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by the jail superintendent. He said during a search, 50 intoxicant pills and 20 small packets of smack were recovered from Vishal Kumar, a resident of Mansa. SHO Angrej Singh said he would take Vishal Kumar on production warrant from jail and investigate how the drugs landed in jail. The Kotwali police have recovered 2.5 kg of poppy husk from Jagdev Singh, a resident of Chathuwala village, Moga, from the bus stand. The Raman police arrested Babbu Singh, a resident of Malwala, with 300 intoxicant pills. Both the accused have been booked under the NDPS Act. TNS

Man held in firing case

Bathinda: The Canal Colony police have arrested an accused in a firing incident occurred in Partap Nagar here on Monday night. Also, the police have booked six accused in the case. The remaining five accused are on the run. Kulwinder Singh, SHO, Canal Colony police station, said: “We have arrested Lakhbeer Singh, alias Lakha, a resident of Bathinda, and Vicky Christian, Vijay Soogla, Badshah, Manpreet Singh, alias Desi, and Ishwar Singh had been booked. The arrest was made by the police after a tip-off. “We have arrested Lakhbir Singh and during the investigation, he gave the name of other accused to the police, he said. The SHO said police parties were regularly conducting raids to arrest the accused and soon all of them would be nabbed. TNS
