Bathinda, December 8

All CCTV cameras installed at the Advanced Cancer Institute to ensure safety of patients, staff members and expensive diagnostic machines are of little use as there’s no visual recording system. Besides, the display monitor of the CCTV cameras is also lying defunct due to poor networking system.

As per information, there are total 35 CCTV cameras installed at the institute.

Only a few of them are functioning and in the absence of the visual recording system, these too are not of much use.

An employee of the institute, who didn’t wish to be named, said, “Some cases of theft have come to the notice of the hospital authorities in the past, but till date no concrete steps have been taken to ensure safety of the hospital property.”

When contacted, institute director MK Mahajan said they had intimated the Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC) to ensure smooth functioning of the CCTV facility and hand over the charge of the safety measure tools to the hospital authorities, but in vain.
