City residents brace for Int’l Yoga Day

BATHINDA: As the nation gets ready for International Yoga Day on June 21, a number of yoga camps will be held in various parts of the city tomorrow.

As the nation gets ready for International Yoga Day on June 21, a number of yoga camps will be held in various parts of the city tomorrow.

Aiming to spread awareness about benefits of performing yoga everyday, the district administration is organising a function to celebrate the day at the Rose Garden here from 6 am to 8 am. All government department officials in the district have been told to participate in the Yoga Day celebrations.

The district administration was organising the day in association with the Ayush Department, Patanjali Yoga Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman Trust.

District ayurveda officials BS Buttar and Sukhjit Pathak are heading the preparations for the function.

Nodal officer of the Ayush Department Dr Rashmi Khanna said to celebrate the International Yoga Day, yoga camps would be organised at several places across the district where yoga instructors would teach basic yogasanas and would also explain how the asanas help people if performed daily. — TNS
