Colourful touch to two-day annual celebrations

BATHINDA: The two-day annual celebrations started at the Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research with zest and zeal here today.

The two-day annual celebrations started at the Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research with zest and zeal here today.

Events like arm painting, matka decor, pebble art, rangoli making and designing a costume were the main attractions of the celebrations.

Other innovative events named online gaming, show cast your past and state food carnival were also a part of the celebrations.

Dr GPI Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Adesh University, and Dr. Harkiran Kaur, principal, Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (AIMSR) inaugurated the two-day event by floating helium balloons in the air.

Other officials Dr Gurpreet Singh Gill, Prabhjeet Kaur, Registrar Col Jagdev Singh and Dean Academics Dr. Rajiv Mahajan were also present on the occasion.

In the matka décor category, the first prize was won by Suvidha, Kiranmai, Kirti and Lovepreet of 2013 batch.

In the arm-painting category, Gurmehar and Jaskirat of 2014 batch won the first prize. Sagrika and her team from 2014 batch won the first prize in the designing a costume using waste material category, which was based on the message of save environment.

Mamta and Parinaz of 2015 batch won the first prize in the pebble art category. Priyanka, Varunima and Prachi of 2014 batch won the first prize in the rangoli-making category with their beautiful depiction of theme “Wild Life”.

The students also exhibited wonderful collections of coins, currency notes, toy cars, novels and sketches, collected over the years. Mayank Gupta of 2013 batch won the first prize for the collection of toy cars. Delicious dishes of different states were made with minimum cooking in minimum time.

The best innovative dish was made by Khyati, Avneet, Pulkita and Prabhnoor of batch 2013. Nikita and Aman of 2013 batch won the “Surprise Me” event, in which they beautifully displayed the pictures of various successful women from the fields of science and technology, politics, entertainment and sports in a small box.

Kids of the faculty members also enjoyed photo booth, clay modeling and drawing competitions. Fun games were organised by MBBS students, in which students of all colleges of the university participated with full enthusiasm.

The function concluded with the address of Dr Harkiran Kaur, in which she expressed her happiness after visualising the innovations and creativity of the students.

She also congratulated the organisers for organising the event.
