The accused, identified as Gurpreet Singh, is a city resident. A case has been registered against him under Section 354B of the IPC at the Civil Lines police station.

The police have started investigation in the case. SHO Jagjeet Singh said a 35-old-old woman resident of Burj of Muktsar district had come for check-up with her sister and brother-in-law at Sarvesh Divya Hospital.

Doctors had admitted her as she was not feeling well and shifted her to the ICU ward of the hospital.
