Congress counters SAD-BJP allegations on wheat distribution

Congress workers staged a protest and levelled allegations against the SAD-BJP alliance for misleading people this morning at Paras Ram Nagar Chowk.

The protest was held to counter the allegations made by the SAD-BJP against halting distribution of wheat under the Atta-Dal Scheme yesterday.

Congress leader Ashok Kumar said the Atta-Dal Scheme would continue. He said the SAD-BJP leaders were misleading people.

The Congress leader said the government had sufficient stock of foodgrain and each card holder would get it. 

Under the new scheme of the Capt Amarinder Singh government, smart card of beneficiaries would be made in the name of the head woman of the house, he added.

The Congress leader alleged that in the last 10 years under the SAD-BJP rule, thousands of fake blue cards had been made whereas poor families did not get their share. 

Depot holders, food and civil supply officials and councillors had made wrong blue cards and the matter is being investigated, he said. Congress workers said the promises made by Manpreet Singh Badal would be fulfilled gradually. The work on the Patiala railway track underbrigade, increasing the capacity of the sullage carrier and building of two parks in the trans-railway line areas had been approved.
