DC unveils Rs10,149-cr credit plan

Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra today released the annual credit plan of the district amounting to Rs 10,149 crore for 2017-18.

State Bank of Patiala, Bathinda, has prepared the annual credit plan.

The credit plan is based on potential linked plan (PLP) prepared by the NABARD office, Bathinda, of Rs 10,111 crore with a growth of 6.76 per cent over the last year’s PLP.

Lakra said Rs 8,758 crore had been earmarked for priority sector lending out of total plan Rs 10,149 crore.

This amount is 5.14 per cent higher than that of last year when it was to the tune of Rs 8,331 crore.

The sector-wise outlay includes Rs 5,335 crore, which is also 4.42 per cent more than the last year’s Rs 5,109 crore allotted to the agriculture sector, Rs 1,138 crore (4.78 per cent more than last year’s Rs 1,086 crore) allotted to small scale Industries, Rs 2,285 crore (6.97 per cent more than last year’s Rs 2,136 crore) allotted to other priority sector and Rs 1,391 crore (almost 5.45 per cent more than the last year’s Rs 1,319 crore) allotted to the non-priority sector.

The DC advised all banks to participate equally in the priority sector lending and implementation of social welfare schemes launched by the Government of India.

He also stressed on the need for loans under the Stand up India and PMEGP schemes, side-by-side loans under micro finance to self help groups under the NRLM and NULM, loan to women, minority communities and other weaker sections for the overall development of the district.

He also stressed on timely disbursement of loans to genuine beneficiaries.

ADC (D) Shena Aggarwal, assistant general manager of State Bank of Patiala, Shiv Dayal Deolka, chairman of Satluj Gramin Bank, Harbachan Singh Sodhi, assistant general manager of Oriental Bank of Commerce, Narain Sharma, Lead district manager Rakesh Kumar Gupta, deputy Lead district manager Rajiv Kumar Tinna, Lead district officer, Reserve Bank of India, Parkash Chand and other senior officers from banks and other offices were present on the occasion.
