DIG interacts with listeners in live radio show

Ashish Chaudhry, DIG, Bathinda range, was the guest in a live radio show at All India Radio (FM), Bathinda. During the one-hour programme,

Chaudhry replied all questions ranging from the traffic management to the maintenance of law and order. While narrating the steps taken by the police, he asserted that the proposal for rationalise the jurisdictions of police stations in the range had already forwarded to the Department of Home, Government of Punjab.

He said police officials were being imparted training in dealing with cyber crimes. The night police patrolling was being strengthened in the rural areas, the DIG added.

While replying a question, Chaudhry said only 14 CCTV cameras (connected to the police headquarter) had been installed by the Bathinda police in the city, which were not sufficient. The DIG said he had been doing his best to procure funds to cover the entire city.

In the show, listeners also participated through telephone calls and shared their grievances and suggestions. Most of the complaints of the listeners were pertaining to the traffic management. Most of the callers appreciated the district police on the account of enhancing police patrolling in the city.

Ashish Chaudhry sought the cooperation of the residents to curb all types of crimes and asserted that he had been doing his best to establish healthy police-public relations. The show was anchored by Rajeev Arora, Station Director, AIR, FM, Bathinda.
