Diploma engineers’ stir enters Day 4

BATHINDA: The Diploma Engineers’ Association Punjab continued their protest for the fourth day as well.

The Diploma Engineers’ Association Punjab continued their protest for the fourth day as well. They said neither the Central government nor the state government was paying any heed to their demands.

The protesters said they wanted that DPC meetings should be held for discussing the promotion cases of junior engineers to sub-division engineer, cancellation of transfers of engineers to remote areas, relieve engineers of duties in the Education Department, Powercomm and other departments which are not related to their job profile among several other demands.

Diploma Engineer Union leader Rajpal Singh said, “If their demands would not be fulfilled by the government then they will intensify the protest and stage a protest on Patiala Head office of Water Supply and Sewerage Department.”
