After facing the wrath of city residents and officials of the Municipal Corporation (MC), Bathinda, for not completing the sewerage and water connection work, Triveni Company has finally broken its silence on the issue.

The company has issued details of the works done by it over the years. The company has claimed that it has been doing the work for which it has been paid.

The company was accused of pocketing the money released by the MC of Bathinda and not doing its work.

“All sewer and water lines were installed in an unplanned manner and most of the lines were either choked or broken or undersize when the work was handed over to the company. To overcome the situation, the operation and maintenance work was assigned to the company in August 2015,” the company’s official statement stated.

“The company gave an option to residents to interact and acknowledge complaint redressal through a call center and complaint redressal window at Rose Garden. The company has formed a water and sewer team to attend the complaints,” the statement furthed added.

“In the beginning, more than 60 complaints were received on a daily basis. Now, the number has reduced to less than half. To address the problems, the company arranged a jetting machine, super sucker for sewer-related complaints and acted on leakage and contamination-related complaints,” it stated.

Working with the funds which were released to the company, the company had laid 73-km pipelines of different sizes and length in the city, Triveni Company added.

“Around 60-km length is being already commissioned and the water supply resumed to different parts of the city. As many as 3,000 new houses have been given water connections successfully,” the company claimed.

Its official statement clarified that Triveni had laid 50 km of sewer lines in the city giving sewer connections to 4,350 new houses at Parasram Nagar, Pratap Nagar, Hans Nagar, SAS Nagar, Lal Singh Nagar, Bhai Mati Das Nagar and Barnala Road.
