The District Education Office has served show-cause notices to the heads of as many as 12 schools of the district for not submitting e-certificate of their schools on the e-Punjab portal.

The schools heads have been directed to submit a written reply to the notice with the department.

Taking a strict note of the fact that the schools were sent repeat reminders to upload and match the data pertaining to their school on the web portal and then submit a certificate with the portal, some of the schools failed to comply with the directive.

The schools, which have been served the notices, include Government Primary School Chauke, Government Primary School, Burj Thror, Government Senior Secondary School, Ghumman Kalan, Government Middle School, Harijan Basti Jalal, Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Bhagta Bhai Ka, Government Senior Secondary School, Lehra Dhoorkot, Government High School, Kot Guru, Government Middle School, Loohal Bai, Government Middle School, Chak Atar Singh Wala, Government Middle School, Ramniwas, Government Middle School, Faridkot Kotli and Government Middle School, Gharaili.

The department has also threatened that in case the school heads failed in furnishing their replies, the State Education Department will take action in this regard.

Staff details not uploaded

The District Education Department has also sent notices to 47 schools of the district for failing to upload the qualification data for their staff members.

Notably, the department had asked for data of all teaching and non-teaching staff of the schools to consider the same while processing cases of promotions and seniority and also while assigning office and other duties to the staff members.

The schools have been notified to upload the data as soon as possible and also make sure that the data uploaded on the website is correct and in case any information is found to be incorrect, action will be taken against the school authorities.

Of 47 schools, which have been issued the notices, 11 schools are from the Bhagta Bhaika education block, 11 from Sangat block, nine from Rampur Phul block, seven from Nathana block, six from Bathinda block and three from Talwandi Sabo block.

The school heads, meanwhile, claimed that the delay in uploading the data was being caused by the laxity which the staff members were showing in furnishing their certificates.

“To make sure that correct data is uploaded, we had asked the staff to show us the certificate of the highest educational qualification that they possess but many of them are yet to furnish the same,” said a principal, on condition of anonymity.
