SAD leaders from Rampura Phul today accused the Congress of vendetta politics. Local leaders Jaskaran Singh and Lakhvir Singh said after becoming the Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh had promised that his government would not indulge in vendetta politics. But in Rampura Phul, false police cases were being registered against us on the directions of Congress MLA Gurpreet Singh Kangra, they added.
The SAD leaders today addressed the media and alleged that the Rampura Phul police had registered a case against SAD workers, including Jaskaran Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Swaran Singh, Jagjit Singh, Jaspreet Singh and Gurpreet Singh, on the complainant of Congress leaders Major Singh and Sukhdev Singh. They said the case under section 751 of the IPC was registered on the directions of Congress MLA on March 25.
The leaders alleged that thereafter, Congress leaders pressurised the police and a false case under Sections 336, 427, 506, 147, 148, 25 and 25 of the IPC was registered against them.
Jaskaran Singh said, “We had also written an application to SSP Swapan Sharma in this regard. We have requested him to conduct a free and fair probe into the matter. Congress workers have laid siege to my poultry farm and are not allowing labourers to go inside the farm. They have also switched on the motors, resulting in water accumulation in fields.”
Congress leader Arun Wadhawan refuted the allegation. He said, “The SAD is known for vendetta politics. Now after losing the election, the SAD leaders are just accusing the Congress and its leaders of vendetta politics.”
