The CIA claimed to have busted a gang of robbers allegedly involved in robbing liquor vends and petrol pumps, on Wednesday night. The CIA has arrested two members of the gang while three others escaped after firing at a police party.
CIA in-charge Baljit Singh said on Wednesday night, they got information about the movement of the gang near Khudi Khurd village.
A CIA team conducted a raid and after seeing the police party, robbers who were in a car, stopped their vehicle. Three members came out and fired at the police and fled.
“We succeeded in arresting two other members of the gang — Tarsem Singh and Iqbal Singh as both were trying to flee with the car. We have seized two .315 bore pistols with two live cartridges,” said Singh.
The other accused have been identified as Gagandeep Singh, Balkarn Singh and Pardeep Singh.
“We have registered a case under Sections 399, 402 and 307 of the IPC and 25 of the Arms Act,” he said. — TNS
