Bathinda, June 15

Following the guidelines issued by the state government under the Tandarust Punjab Mission, a Health Department team on Friday conducted a surprise checking at medical stores in Mansa.

The team checked as many as 10 medical stores and collected samples of nine medicines.

The team also seized medical drugs from some medical stores, which were being sold illegally.

The team members said the surprise checking was being conducted to curtail the illegal sale of contraband intoxicants and indiscriminate sale of medicines without prescription at the medical stores.

They added that after the result of tests of samples collected during the checking was release, action would be taken against medical store owners for indulging in unfair practices and flouting the government norms pertaining to the sale of medicines.
