India-China relations discussed

BATHINDA: The Central University of Punjab (CUP) organised a special lecture on the topic ‘India and China in Asia’ on its campus today.

The Central University of Punjab (CUP) organised a special lecture on the topic ‘India and China in Asia’ on its campus today. Prof MM Puri, former Vice-Chancellor, Punjab University, was the key speaker at the lecture.

In the beginning of the lecture, Dr Bawa Singh from the Center for South and Central Asian Studies welcomed the speaker. Prof P Ramarao, Dean, Academic Affairs, formally introduced the speaker to the gathering. Professor Puri described the geographical, political economical and cultural conditions of India and China in Asia.

He said India and China were important as well as big nations and both were progressive to increase their impact in the economic sphere. He further added that China was taking care of his economic benefits and trying to build its hold on Indian Ocean.
