Intern kills self

Bathinda, March 24

Gurlal Singh, an intern at the local NFL unit, committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a quarter in NFL Colony.

The deceased was a resident of Chakheera Singh village.

When the room-mate of the deceased came to the quarter, he found the door locked from inside. The deceased hanged himself with his turban.

After getting information, Thermal police station SHO reached the spot with a police party and began a probe into the incident.

NGO Sahara Jansewa volunteers also reached the spot and took the body to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Police officials said the deceased was an M Sci (mechanical) last year student and his course was to complete on March 31.

The police said it had come to light that his mother was upset due to the poor condition of the family and his sister is working as teacher in a school. — TNS
