Man commits suicide after killing daughter

A man committed suicide by hanging himself after killing his mentally upset daughter in Paras Ram Nagar this afternoon.

He was reportedly under stress due to a property dispute with his brothers.

The Canal Colony police have found a suicide note from the deceased’s house.

A case has been registered against six relatives — two brothers, two nephews and two sisters-in-law — of the deceased.

Charanjeet Singh, a 46-year-old a resident of Krishna street number 6 in Paras Ram Nagar, was living with his daughter Sonia, who was mentally upset. His wife Veena Rani died of cancer on July 21.

According to information, Charanjeet Singh had a property dispute with his two brothers Bheem Sain and Hari Ram due to which he was upset.

At present, his brothers were living separately. The wife of his elder brother late Mool Raj and his daughter were also living at his home.

Today, his sister-in-law and niece had gone to a relative’s place in the morning. When they came back, they found Charanjeet Singh hanging from a fan and Sonia lying dead in a room.

Blood was oozing from her mouth at that time. As they started shouting, neighbours came to know about it and they informed the police.

DSP (City) Davinder Singh said, “We have found a suicide note from the pocket of Charanjeet Singh. A case has been registered against his two brothers Bheem Sain, Hari Ram, sisters-in-law Mamta and Maya and nephews Sonu and Harbhajan.”

No arrest has been made so far, he added.

According to sources, Bheem Sain and Hari Ram had taken their share from the joint property.

But they were demanding more than their share due to which led to thedispute.
