Congress candidate from Bathinda (Urban) Manpreet Badal, along with his family members, today campaigned door-to-door in the main markets of the city.
Congress leader and former minister Chiranji Lal Garg inaugurated the Congress election office at the Hospital market today.
Manpreet Badal said the bad time for the traders was over as the Congress, after coming to power, would resolve their issues.
He said the Congress government would also put an end to drugs within four weeks of power and also curb corruption.
Manpreet said by implementing the nine-point agenda prepared by Capt Amarinder Singh, the party would create a level playing field for all sections of society.
Later, Manpreet, along with his supporters, undertook door-to-door campaigning in Sirki Bazaar, Sadar Bazaar, Sri Gaushala market and Patiala railway crossing.
Traffic movement obstructed
The code of conduct went for a toss during the inauguration of the Congress election office in Hospital Bazaar as party flags were installed on electric poles.
The movement of traffic was also obstructed due to the road show in the market.
For holding the event, chairs were placed on the road but later, after noticing the inconvenience to people, they were taken away.
Manpreet’s daughter Rhea Badal and his niece Mannat Kaur Johal accompanied him.
Mohan Lal Jhumba, Arun Wadhawan, Rajan Garg, Pawan Mani, Rupinder Bindra and others were present on the occasion.
