Material worth Rs 3.5 lakh stolen from house

BATHINDA: In a theft incident, jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash have been stolen.

In a theft incident, jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash have been stolen.

A case has been registered at the Dialpura police station under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC. In a complaint lodged by Deepak Kumar, a resident of Kangar village, it has been alleged that unidentified persons stole 100 gm gold jewellery, 100 gm silver, Rs 50,000 in cash, a mobile phone and clothes from his house on Wednesday night.

Deepak Kumar has stated that he was out of his home for his father’s treatment at DMCH, Ludhiana. When he came back on Thursday, he found these items missing from his home.

Balwinder Singh, in-charge of the Bhagata Bhai Ka police post said a case had been registered against unidentified persons.

He said the police had started investigation and the accused would be held soon.

In another case, the police have not found any clue in the theft of Verna car from Parjapat Colony, Bathinda. The Civil Lines police are investigating the matter.
