Bathinda, October 14

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Ambala Division Dinesh Chand Sharma today reached the city railway station to inspection it for the first time after taking the charge on October 4. He also visited other nearby railway stations as well.

During the inspection, DRM Dinesh Chand Sharma told officials that any negligence in safety and security would not be tolerated.

He said the Bathinda railway station was the main station of the northern railway from where a large number of passengers travel every day. The DRM inspected various areas, including the UTS counter, restrooms, platforms and parking area.

He got upset after seeing the garbage lying in and around the railway station. He reprimanded the officials and said it seemed that they were not ready to work due to which such condition prevailed. He instructed the officials to get the station immediately cleaned.

The DRM also expressed unhappiness over illegal vends at the station.
