Bathinda, June 15

Members of the PWD Field and Workshop Workers Union (Water Supply and Sewerage Board branch) staged a protest outside the office of Triveni Company on Friday for not releasing their salaries.

The protesters raised slogans against the company.

They alleged that while the company was not heeding the demands of the workers, it was also delaying the release of salaries of its workers.

Union leaders Raj Kumar Grover, Gurdeep Singh and Kulwinder Singh said the company had not been paying the salaries of employees working on contractual basis and doing the job of overseeing the water supply and sewerage work.

Protesters Kishore Chand, Sukhchain Sngh, Makkhan Singh, Darshan Sharma, Singh Bahadur and others said in case their demands were not met and salaries not released by the company, the workers would be left with no option but to intensify their protest and halt the work, which would cause trouble to not only the company but the public as well.
