Three persons allegedly opened fire at a house at Kaljharani village over a land dispute between two groups last night. One person was injured in this incident.
In a complaint lodged by Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Kaljharani village, it has been alleged that he had a land dispute with Gurkeerat Singh who entered his house with two unidentified persons and allegedly assaulted him.
Jaswinder Singh also alleged that the accused also opened firing at his house with a .12 bore revolver, which damaged the cars.
A case under Sections 323, 324, 452, 336, 427 and 34 of the IPC and 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against Gurkeerat Singh and two other accused.
Investigating officer Amrik Singh said they had started investigation and the accused would be held soon.
One booked for assault
In another incident, a person was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon at Nathana village yesterday.
In a complaint lodged by Sarabjeet Singh, a resident of Nathana, it has been alleged that he had a dispute with Labh Singh, a resident of the same village.
Labh Singh attacked him with a sword and fled from the spot taking the mobile phone of the injured.
Investigating officer Iqbal Singh said a case under Sections 452, 323, 324 and 379 of the IPC has been registered at the Nathana police station and accused was absconding.
