Riddhi Rani of Arya Senior Secondary School, Mansa, has brought laurels to her school and family by topping the district in the PSEB class X examinations. She scored 97.38 per cent marks to top the district and was ranked 10th in the state.

Notably, only girls have managed to make it to the merit list from Mansa. Neetu Rani of Shri Bala Ji Public High School in Karandi village bagged the second rank in the district and the 14th rank in the state with 96.77 per cent marks. Diksha Singla of Mai Nikko Devi Model Senior Secondary School, Mansa, bagged the third rank in the district and 17th rank in the state with 96.31 per cent marks.

Gitika Aggarwal of Arya Senior Secondary School, Jashanpreet Kaur of Mai Nikko Devi Model Senior Secondary School, Rupinder Kaur of Arya Senior Secondary School, Husandeep Kaur of National Public School, Bachheaana, and Seema Rani of Government High School, Khundal Kalan, also made a place for themselves in the merit list.

Mansa district is placed at the 18th position in terms of pass percentage of students. Of the 9,173 students who appeared in the examinations from the district, only 4,246 students managed to clear them. The district registered a pass percentage of only 46.29.

Result unexpected: Topper

Riddhi Rani and her family knew that she will do well in the examinations but did not expect that she would top the district. “She used to be placed among the top three in her school but the results of the board examinations has pleasantly surprised us all,” said her father Hukum Chand. “I used to study till midnight and didn’t take any undue stress during the examination. I have already taken admission in non-medical stream as I wish to be an aerospace engineer and make my family and teachers proud,” Riddhi added.
