BATHINDA: Nearly more than two weeks have gone since nine committees were constituted by the Mayor over various issues.

Nearly more than two weeks have gone since nine committees were constituted by the Mayor over various issues. These were supposed to submit their reports within seven days, but no committee so far has submitted its report to the mayor.

Ironically, except two-three committees, others don’t even care to hold a meeting even once to discuss the matter for which there committee was constituted.

Only members of three committees constituted on stray animals, LED lights and Cargill company issue held few meetings, but they had also not submitted their reports.

Some councilors are also whispering in each other’s ears that Mayor Balwant Rai Nath has deliberately constituted these committees in which only SAD-BJP councilors were made members. It was an attempt to misled the general house members and divert their attention from issue which they were raising.

It was motive was also clear when the committee was constituted as Surprisingly, deputy mayor Gurinderpal Kaur Mangat who is out of country for three months was also included in two committees.

The nine committees which includes tree guard probe committee compromising councillors Rajinder Singh Sidhu, Jasbir Singh Jassa, Sham Lal Jain, Rajpreet Kaur Brar and Gurmeet Kaur was constituted.

In the panel constituted for the selling of shops to tenants’ councillors, senior deputy mayor Tarsem Kumar Goyal, Harmander Singh, Gursewak Singh Mann, Assar Paswan and Pritam Kaur have been included. In the committee constituted for RO Plants, deputy mayor Gurinderpal Kaur Mangat, councilors Harmander Singh, Gursewak Mann, Harjinder Singh Toni and Harjinder Singh Shinda were included as members.

In a committee constituted for installation of cow catchers in the city, councillors Harwinder Kumar Sharma, Rajinder Singh Sidhu, Jagsir Singh Bangi and Arvind Kiran Cheema have been included as its members. In a committee constituted for illegal encroachment on ponds, councillors Sham Lal Jain, Santosh Kumari Mahant, Sukhmander Singh, Karamjit Kaur Giana and Darshan Kumar were included as its members.

In the committee constituted over the issue of overcharging by parking contractor, deputy mayor Gurinderpal Kaur Mangat, Nirmal Singh Sandhu, Gursewak Singh Mann, Kamlesh Rani and Shinder Kaur were included as its members.

In the committee constituted on the issue of selling of 4.23 acre land to Cargill Company at industrial growth centre, councillors Rajbinder Singh Sidhu, Pankaj Arora, Harpal Singh Dhillon and Parminder Kaur Sidhu were included as its members.

In a panel constituted over the issue of installing LED lights in the city, senior deputy mayor Tarsem Goyal, councillors Harmander Singh, Baljit Singh Raju Sra, Gurbachan Singh Khubban and Neelam Rani Jindal were its members.

In the committee constituted for the probe of dustbins, councillors Pankaj Arora, Rajwinder Singh Sidhu, Sukhdev Singh, Sukhdev Singh Brar, Pardeep Kumar Goyal and Anjana Rani were its members.

Mayor Balwant Rai Nath said “I am unaware will check it tomorrow and will get back to you as meetings of these committees were going on continuously”.
