Bathinda, August 25

Owing to the increasing number of passengers travelling to Delhi by train, passengers have raised the demand for scheduling halts of Delhi-bound trains.

One such train for which the demand for more halts has risen is the Sarai Rohilla–Bikaner– Sarai Rohilla train number 12455-56. The train chugs its way from Bikaner to Delhi via Bathinda, Barnala, Dhuri and Jakhal. The passengers have demanded that the train must also halt at stations located in Bhuccho, Rampura Phul and Tapa Mandi.

Members of the the Passenger Welfare Association stated that while the number of passengers going to Delhi from these places has risen manifold in the past, the number of trains halting at these stations has remained the same. They stated that the only Delhi-bound train which stops at Rampura station is the Delhi-Bathinda-Delhi express train number 14731-32.

The passengers have demanded that if the Sarai Rohilla-Bikaner- Sarai Rohilla halts at Rampura Phul, Bhuchho and Tapa Mandi stations as well it will save the passengers a lot of time and trouble as they will not have to travel all the way to Bathinda Junction to catch the train.

The union members have already written a letter to the railway authorities to bring the matter to their notice.
