The CIA-II of the Bathinda police today rescued a 16-year-old girl who was kidnapped, raped and was then further sold in Rajasthan for Rs 3.5 lakh.
DSP Rajpal Singh said a singer, Seera Gill, his wife Raj Sandhu and another person Lovjit Singh were booked by the police under various sections of the IPC.
The main accused, Seera, had been arrested by the police.
He said the girl had been recovered by the police.
He said Sarabjit Kaur, a resident of Jassi Pauwali, had lodged a complaint in this regard on October 13 at the Kotfatta police station.
The complainant named a few persons and levelled allegations that they had kept the girl in Faridkot.
During investigation, it was found that the accused had further sold the girl to someone else in Jhunjunu, Rajasthan, for Rs 3.5 lakh.
The victim revealed that besides Rajasthan and Faridkot, she was also kept in a house by the accused couple in Kapurthala.
Police officials said the third accused, Lovjit, was earlier booked under the NDPS Act for possessing 55 gm of heroin and he was also facing two cases of attempt to murder.
Police officials said further investigation was on and the absconding accused would be traced and arrested soon.
