Bathinda, February 16

The Bathinda police will verify the documents submitted in the court to fill the bail bonds by the accused arrested by the CIA-2 wing of Bathinda police yesterday.

According to police sources, the police have started the procedure to verify the bail bonds and in the next two or three days, the police will approach court officials. After getting the records, the whole data will be scanned.

Tarjinder Singh, in-charge of the CIA-2 wing of the Bathinda police, said investigation had been going on and after scanning the whole data, the police will submit application in the court for the cancellation of those bails that have been taken by producing fake documents.

Today, the three accused — Pawan Kumar, Maan Singh and Hans Raj — were taken to the court, which sent them in 14-day judicial custody.

Tarjinder Singh said during interrogation, the police recovered duplicate stamps of tehsildar in Bathinda and Barnala and some fake documents.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that they changed the inside pages of various registries of property and produced these in the court to fill bail bonds.

On the other hand, a fake identity card of Jewan Kumar, which they produced as councillor, was recovered from the accused. In reality, Jewan Kumar is a councillor of Barnala and the accused used his photo to make a fake identity card.

The CIA-2 wing also took data from the Kotwali police regarding the record of the accused as all three had been booked in the past on the same charge. — TNS
