While a majority of streets here have been re-laid by the Municipal Council during the last 10 years of the SAD-BJP government in the state, residents using the Patiala Mandi-Rampura Pind road across the grain market are surprised at why this portion had remained unattended.
Paras Bansal, a local resident, said, “We fail to understand why only this portion of the road has been left out when all other roads in our town have been metalled. The situation gets worse during the rainy season. Potholes make the movement of vehicles very difficult.”
Deepak Kumar, another resident of that area, said, “Driving on potholes was very difficult. Accidents were a common feature here.”
