Bathinda, February 15
As an indication of feeble interest shown by teachers and schools in remedial coaching that is being given to students of Class IX in math and science, the schools have failed to submit the results of the pre-term examinations conducted in November last year as part of the coaching.
In a letter, the State Science Education Society, Punjab, has directed the school heads to submit the results of the pre-term examinations.
It has been referred in the letter that as part of the remedial coaching being given to academically weak students of Class IX, pre-term test, mid-term review tests and post-term tests are conducted.
The mid-term test was conducted on January 15 but the results too are yet to be submitted with the society.
The schools were scheduled to send the results to the society offices by February 15.
The letter also directed the schools to lay out the schedule for conducting the post-term tests of students undergoing remedial coaching as per the details uploaded on the website of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan.
It has also fixed the responsibility of the district science supervisors to intimate all schools so that the post-term test can be conducted as per the schedule.
The district science supervisors have also been given the responsibility of consolidating the results of all three tests and submit the results with the society by February 18 so that the consolidated report may be presented during a meeting of the society to be held on February 21.
