Remove encroachments from village ponds, orders Mansa DC

BATHINDA: Mansa Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta today ordered immediate removal of all encroachments on village ponds in the district.

Mansa Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta today ordered immediate removal of all encroachments on village ponds in the district. The Deputy Commissioner passed this order at a monthly meeting held at Bachat Bhawan where all the department heads of the district were present.

Laying stress on the need of village ponds and its benefits, the deputy commissioner asked the Mansa, Sardulgarh and Budhlada, to personally monitor the removal of the encroachments. He said that it was high time to free all the village ponds from every kind of encroachment.

Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta also enquired about the nature of encroachments on village ponds and also about the efforts initiated by the officials concerned to remove the same.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the SDMs to keep a check on the progress of under-construction roads and leave no stone unturned to expedite the work.

The Deputy Commissioner also enquired about the action taken by the municipal councils against the encroachments on either side of the roads which trouble motorists and create traffic bottlenecks.

The Deputy Commissioner took a serious note of the officials who failed to achieve the target of recovering pending dues and ordered them to pull up their socks.

Expressing concern over the menace of the use of plastic bags, Deputy Commissioner Dharam Pal Gupta directed the officials of the Pollution Control Board to take stringent measures so that the use of plastic can be reduced in the district to a great extent.

Among others, those who were present during the meeting were ADC (G) GPS Sahota, ADC (D) Gurwinder Sarao, Assistant Commissioner (General) Om Parkash and Assistant Commissioner (Complaints) Deepak Rohilla.
