Security has been beefed up by the Punjab police in Bathinda before Independence Day. Before the celebrations of Independence Day, the Bathinda police have set up a number of nakas on every road, including link road.
Personnel of the Punjab Police, commandos, policemen of the PAP Battalion have been deployed at sensitive points in the district.
SSP Naveen Singla visited various places of the city to check security arrangements. He also visited the railway station and the bus stand.
Policemen and GRP teams checked the luggage of various passengers in the presence of the SSP, Bathinda.
After that the SSP discussed about security with police officials of Bathinda police.
“We have received two companies of new trainee police constables and we are also deploying them for security,” the SSP added.
He also visited the sports stadium, where Minister of state Razia Sultana would unfurl the national flag and talked with security in charges.
The SSP said every vehicle will be checked before entrance in the district. He also appealed to people of the district if anyone found wrong, he will immediately call him.
The SSP said patrolling parties would conduct patrolling throughout the night and he would visit every subdivision.
