There is an injury mark on the forehead and near the eye of the student. Kailash Kumar, a resident of Calcutta Street, has alleged that his son Sumit (10), a Class III student, was playing in the classroom two days ago when his teacher assaulted him without any reason. He was injured as his head was hit with a bench, he added. Vijay Kumar, president of parents’ association, said when they reached the school for complaint, the school management closed the gate and didn’t allow them to meet anyone. According to Kailash, the injury was serious and Sumit’s eye could open properly only after three days of treatment. They said they would meet the Bathinda Deputy Commissioner in this regard. TNS

One killed in road accident

Bathinda: A person was killed on Monday in a road accident that took place at Rama Mandi when a truck hit a person riding a motorcycle. The accused truck driver managed to escape. The deceased has been identified as Puppy Kumar, a resident of Rama Mandi. A case has been registered against unidentified truck driver on the complaint of deceased’s wife Rekha Rani. It has been stated that his husband was coming back to the house from work on a motorcycle (PB-03-AR-6505) when a truck bearing a Rajasthan registration number hit her husband on the main road of Rama Mandi. Local residents noted down the number (Rj-06-GC-4946). A case against the unidentified truck driver has been registered under Sections 304A, 279 and 337 of the IPC at the Rama police station. TNS
