Bathinda, January 16

The NSS wing of the University College of Basic Science and Humanities, Guru Kashi University (GKU), organised a seminar on the digital mode of payment on the occasion of National Youth Day.

The seminar was organised under the guidance of Dean, Students Welfare, Dr Balwant Singh Sandhu.

Prof Parveen Mehta, head of the Economics Department, interacted with students and told them about the digital mode of payment and its benefits.

He said it was the need of the hour and there were many methods of digital payment such as debit card, credit card, net banking, mobile banking, special banking apps and other facilities.

He further added that people’s valuable money and time could be saved through the use of these methods. “These methods can prove to be useful to keep a check on black money. Digital payment methods increase the revenue of the government. The accuracy of the national income can be checked with the help of these methods,” he added.

On this occasion, a demonstration of digital modes of payment was also shown to the students.

Professor Sandhu said people should use these methods because they were safe; time and money saving; and convenient.

BS Dhaliwal, Vice-Chancellor, GKU, said everyone should use the digital modes of the payment.
