Bathinda, October 14

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bathinda, organised a seminar at Government Middle School, Joganand, here today.

CJM Dr Mandeep Mittal, who is also the Secretary of the DLSA, Bathinda, attended the seminar as the chief guest.

Students of the school were apprised of DLSA schemes, including lok adalats, Senior Citizen and Parents Act and 357-A CrPC Victim Compensation, during the seminar.

Mandeep Mittal encouraged the students to plant maximum saplings of trees. He also announced to organised a yoga camp on the school premises. He said an essay writing competition and debate would be held for the students.

Dr Mittal encouraged the students to read biographies of Nobel Prize winners. He asked students to learn English along with other languages. The DLAS Secretary said the students should read at least one paragraph daily from any English newspaper.

On the occasion, questions based on general knowledge were also asked.— TNS
