Weather showed its various moods today as it turned from hot to pleasant to humid to pleasant again.

While the residents of the city and its adjoining areas woke up to a hot and humid morning, the evening brought some rain with it.

The bright sunshine till the afternoon notwithstanding, the cloud development began after 2 pm.

The sun continued to play hide and seek thereafter, playing upon the hopes of the residents of receiving downpour.

The rain didn’t last for long and by 6.30 pm, the sun was out again, adding a bright yellow tinge to the otherwise grey sky.

As per the data procured from the Agri-met Department of the Punjab Agriculture University’s regional centre in Bathinda, before the evening downpour, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.4 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature was 24.5 degree Celsius today. The relative humidity was high in the morning hours at 84 per cent. It fell by the afternoon to 49 per cent.

According to the weather forecast released by the centre, the whole of northern India is expected to receive heavy rain over the next week.

As per the weather forecast released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for the next four days, the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 37 degree Celsius.

The minimum temperature is expected to be around 27 degree Celsius. The IMD has also predicted partly cloudy sky for the next four days.
