Thieves attempt to loot ATM

BATHINDA: Unidentified persons attempted to break open an ATM of Oriental Bank of Commerce at Bibiwala road here.



Bathinda, Decmeber 6

Unidentified persons attempted to break open an ATM of Oriental Bank of Commerce at Bibiwala road here. However, when they failed, they took away the CCTV camera installed inside the ATM booth.

The matter came to the notice of the bank staff when customers went inside the ATM booth.

The Cantonment police have initiated a probe after registering a case against unidentified persons.

A case under Sections 454, 380 and 427 of the IPC has been registered on the basis of the statement of Ankit Bansal, bank manager.

No security guard was deployed at the ATM. Investigating officer Rajpal Singh said they had got the CCTV footage and the accused would be arrested soon.

According to sources, three persons were involved in the bid to break the ATM. — TNS
