Talwandi Sabo SDM Barinder Kumar today rejected nomination papers of three candidates for the municipal council elections in the town.
These included an AAP candidate. A total of 62 nominations were found valid in the scrutiny. December 9 is the last date for withdrawing nominations papers.
According to sources, nominations papers of independent candidate Balvir Kaur from Ward-3, Veerpal Kaur, covering candidate of the Congress, from Ward-6 and Sarabjot Kaur, AAP candidate from Ward-13 were rejected by the Returning Officer.
SDM Barinder Kumar could not be contacted despite repeated attempts, but Deputy Commissioner Diprava Lakra confirmed that three nominations were rejected. — TNS
