The Municipal Corporation’s enforcement wing morning issued 128 challans to vendors in the Sector 19 market today.

The items will be released once the vendors pay the fine which ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 and can even go beyond as per the quantity of the items. Officials said though the vendors were allowed to sell their items, they were not supposed to leave the stuff in the market at night.

The MC is likely to declare Sector 22 and Sector 19 no-vending zones. According to the plan presented by the Department of the Architecture to UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore today, it was proposed that the areas be declared no-vending zones.
