21-year-old dies in road mishap

LALRU: A 21-year-old youth was killed after his bike skidded off in order to save cattle which suddenly came in front of him on the Ambala-Chandigarh stretch here last night.

A 21-year-old youth was killed after his bike skidded off in order to save cattle which suddenly came in front of him on the Ambala-Chandigarh stretch here last night.

The deceased has been identified as Subhodh Mehta, who actually hailed from Bihar, but at present, he was putting up in a rented accommodation at Shivalik Colony here.

According to the police, the incident took place when the victim, who had gone to Dehar village to purchase something, was returning back home.

It has been learnt that cattle suddenly came in front of his bike and in order to avoid any collision, Subhodh lost his control over the vehicle and it skidded off.

Following the incident, the victim sustained injuries and was taken to the Civil Hospital, Dera Bassi, from where he was later shifted to the PGI. Doctors declared him brought dead. — OC
