Zirakpur, October 17
A 22-year-old girl from Zirakpur died of suspected dengue at Mukat Hospital, Sector 34, Chandigarh, today. The Health Department officials has not confirmed it yet. As per information, Isha Gaur of Motiaz Royale City, Zirakpur, had been suffering from fever for the past some days. Her condition deteriorated on October 16 following which she was admitted to the Chandigarh hospital.
In Zirakpur, as many as 18 cases of dengue have been reported so far. Meanwhile, seven cases were reported from Dera Bassi, sources added.
After Isha died, Health Department officials rushed to her residence where fogging, anti-larval and anti-adult mosquito eradication operations were carried out. The team found dengue mosquito larva from the flat next to the victim’s residence.
