24 get notice for water ban violation

As many as 24 notices were issued today by the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation for violation of the ban imposed on the use of water during the morning hours, taking the total number of notices to 1,102.

The Mohali Municipal Corporation had imposed a ban on the misuse of water during the morning hours from April 5. The maximum number of violations were done by residents of Sector 70, where six notices were issued today to the violators, followed by Sector 71 and Phase V , where four notices each were given. Three notices each were issued to residents of Phases I and IV. As many as 15 teams, comprising two employees each, have been formed to ensure that the ban was not flouted.

The civic body had imposed a ban on the watering of lawns and the washing of cars and other vehicles during the morning. Residents had also been prohibited from washing their courtyards in the morning.

They have also been asked to ensure that no leakage of water took place on their property in any manner, including overflow from overhead tanks and coolers.
