The Chandigarh Police have arrested three theft accused, Balwinder Singh (23), Lakhwinder Singh (22) and Mehar Ali (26), all residents of Mohali, under cases of the Arms Act, Motor Vehicle Act and theft.
On the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, at about 2.10 am, Balwinder was arrested from near Ziri Mandi, Maloya, with a .315 bore country-made pistol, two live cartridges and a stolen Maruti car.
Lakhwinder and Ali were arrested today and chassis of two stolen motorcycles were recovered from them. During investigation, they said they were drug addicts and used to sell vehicle parts for money to purchase drugs. A total of seven motorcycles, a car and a car stereo were recovered from all the accused.
