352 get jobs at placement drive

The situation of unemployment among the youth is such that graduates and postgraduates had also applied for the job fair organised for students of Classes X, XII and ITI at the ITI for Boys here on Tuesday.

A total of 600 candidates had registered for the campus placement drive organised by the District Employment Generation and Trade Bureau. As many as 352 candidates got jobs. 

The maximum package offered by Sky International was Rs 1.44 lakh per annum, while the minimum amount offered during the fair was Rs 1 lakh. 

Gurmeet Kaur Shergill, Deputy Director, District Employment Generation and Trade Bureau, said more than 1,500 students passed out from various ITI institutes from the district participated in the fair. 

She said it was the 37th fair held in the district and more than 3,000 youths were selected.— TNS
